
Bar Manager
Position Summary
Pacha New York is seeking an experienced and energetic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operation of our high-volume bars while delivering exceptional guest experiences and maximizing beverage revenue. The Bar Manager is responsible for leading bar staff, maintaining operational excellence, controlling inventory and costs, ensuring compliance with all alcohol service regulations, and executing flawless service during concerts, festivals, private events, and nightlife programming.
This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about hospitality, team development, and operational efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
Bar Operations
● Manage the daily operation of multiple bars throughout the venue.
● Ensure all bars are fully stocked, organized, and operational before guest arrival.
● Oversee opening, service, and closing procedures.
● Monitor bar flow and adjust staffing or service strategies during peak periods.
● Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
Team Leadership
● Supervise Assistant Bar Managers, Bartenders, Barbacks, and Beverage Runners.
● Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new bar team members.
● Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing development.
● Create and manage employee schedules based on business needs.
● Maintain a positive, professional, and accountable team culture.
Guest Experience
● Ensure prompt, friendly, and efficient service at every bar.
● Resolve guest concerns professionally and effectively.
● Support VIP and Bottle Service teams to deliver premium experiences.
● Promote hospitality standards that align with the Pacha brand.
Inventory & Cost Control
● Manage liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and bar supply inventory.
● Conduct weekly and monthly inventory counts.
● Monitor beverage cost, pour cost, waste, and product loss.
● Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of all inventory.
● Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Financial Performance
● Monitor daily beverage sales and labor costs.
● Review sales reports and identify revenue opportunities.
● Drive premium beverage sales and upselling initiatives.
● Support budgeting and cost-control objectives established by the Director of Food & Beverage.
Compliance & Safety
● Ensure compliance with all New York State alcohol service laws.
● Verify staff adherence to age verification procedures and responsible alcohol service.
● Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
● Ensure all cash handling and POS procedures are followed.
● Assist with incident documentation and guest safety procedures.
Training & Development
● Train staff on:
● Cocktail recipes and beverage specifications
● POS systems
● Responsible alcohol service
● Customer service standards
● Speed of service
● Upselling techniques
● Venue policies and emergency procedures
● Conduct regular service meetings and pre-shift briefings.
Cross-Department Collaboration
● Partner with Operations, Security, Production, VIP Services, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure smooth event execution.
● Coordinate staffing and operational needs for special events, artist performances, and private functions.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications
● Minimum 3–5 years of bar management experience in a high-volume nightclub, music venue, hospitality, or restaurant environment.
● Experience managing teams of 20+ employees preferred.
● Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and bottle service operations.
● Experience with POS systems, inventory software, and scheduling platforms.
● Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
● Ability to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong organizational and time management abilities.
● Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience in electronic music venues or large entertainment venues.
● New York Alcohol Training Awareness Program (ATAP) certification.
● TIPS Certification or equivalent.
● Experience with high-volume cash handling and inventory management.
● Knowledge of New York State liquor regulations.
