
Director of Food and Beverage
POSITION SUMMARY
Pacha New York is seeking an experienced, innovative, and results-driven Director of Food & Beverage to lead all food and beverage operations across one of New York City’s premier electronic music venues. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the venue’s F&B strategy while delivering exceptional guest experiences, maximizing revenue, maintaining profitability, and ensuring operational excellence during high-volume events.
The Director of Food & Beverage will oversee all bar operations, service standards, inventory management, staffing, financial performance, compliance, and vendor partnerships while collaborating closely with Operations, Production, Security, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
This position requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced nightlife environment and has a passion for hospitality, live entertainment, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Operations
- Provide strategic leadership for all food and beverage operations throughout the venue.
- Develop and implement operational policies, SOPs, and service standards.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop bar managers, supervisors, bartenders, barbacks, runners, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and guest-focused hospitality.
- Conduct regular management meetings and performance evaluations.
- Ensure seamless execution during concerts, festivals, private events, and nightclub operations
Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
- Monitor daily sales performance, labor costs, beverage cost, and overall profitability.
- Analyze KPIs including:
- Beverage Cost %
- Labor Cost %
- Revenue per Guest
- Average Transaction Value
- Inventory Variance
- Pour Cost
- Sales Mix
- Speed of Service
- Implement strategies to maximize revenue while controlling operational expenses.
- Review financial reports and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
Beverage Program
- Design and oversee an innovative beverage program aligned with the Pacha brand.
- Develop signature cocktails and premium bottle service offerings.
- Maintain relationships with liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, promotional opportunities, and supplier agreements.
- Introduce seasonal menus and limited-time offerings.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management systems.
- Implement inventory controls to reduce waste and theft.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.
- Monitor product usage and establish pars.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of all products.
Guest Experience
- Establish exceptional service standards throughout the venue.
- Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and identify opportunities to enhance the overall experience.
- Collaborate with VIP Services to elevate premium guest offerings.
Staffing & Training
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard food and beverage management and hourly staff.
- Develop comprehensive training programs for all F&B employees.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing education in:
- Responsible alcohol service
- Guest engagement
- Upselling techniques
- Product knowledge
- POS proficiency
- Safety procedures
- Create succession plans for future leadership development.
Compliance & Safety
● Ensure compliance with all New York State and New York City health, safety, labor, and alcohol regulations.
● Maintain DOH inspection readiness.
● Ensure compliance with liquor licensing requirements.
● Oversee food safety and sanitation standards.
● Partner with Security to ensure safe alcohol service and responsible guest management.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Coordinate operational planning for major events, artist hospitality, brand activations, and special programming.

Minimum requirements
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
● 7+ years of progressive food & beverage leadership experience.
● Minimum 3 years in a senior management or director-level position.
● Experience managing high-volume nightlife venues, concert venues, festivals, hotels, or luxury hospitality operations.
● Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar beverage operations.
● Extensive knowledge of inventory management systems and POS platforms.
● Proven leadership and team development experience.
● Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
● Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
● Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours
