ABOUT THE ROL

The Sommelier, is in charge of the wine operations, he must be a highly trained person with ability to manage a world-wide wine menu. The person who occupies this position must ensure that wine service operations and winery, are manage in an impeccable manner, he is in contact with the room staff and clients, ensuring they have a spectacular experience. It has to be a person with a clear customer orientation, empathetic and sociable person able to connect with customers to guide them throw the wine menu.

RESPONSABILITIES


  • Efficiently coordinate wine service with sommelier assistants and runners.
  • Assist Restaurant manager for the winery management
  • Ensure wine mise en place is correct
  • Responsible for service and wine sales
  • Make sure all wines temperatures are correct
  • Ensure wine service is efficient and fast
  • If any bottle has a problem, replace it as soon as possible
  • Advice clients on the wine list, using
  • Present food & beverage accordly to the standards
  • Up selling when is possible and encourage waiters to do so (always in proper manners)
  • Ensure his section operates efficiently maintaining Destino reputation and values
  • Responsible to maintain food, service, health & safety high standards
  • Full knowledge of all product sold in Destino
  • Greet and help seating guests
  • Attend to client’s complaints, in case of a serious problem Restaurant Manager will deal with it
  • Ensure clients experience is the best possible at all the times
  • Make sure the premises stay clean and tidy along the evening
  • Ensure cutlery, glasses, dishes are clean and spotless
  • In case of any complaint from a guest, do not try to solved it, speak to the Restaurant Manager  
  • Say goodbye to customers thanking for their stay 

Minimum requirements

  • 3 years previous experience
  • Interest and knowledge about wines Cocktails
  • Good sales skills
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Sommelier diploma
  • High level English / Spanish spoken and written
  • Advance level in MIcrosoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Restaurant Management Program
